Astoria Fishing Charters - Guided Salmon and Sturgeon fishing trips

Lower Columbia river and Pacific Ocean fishing
out of Astoria, Hammond and Westport, Oregon.
We will be salmon and sturgeon fishing out of a
20ft 2007 Thunder Jet hard top. The boat is
covered, heated and fishes four people
comfortably! I do work with other guides for
larger parties.

Sturgeon season is here and we are already
catching fish every trip. The first day of the
season we caught 14 sturgeon! The second day,
we caught 15 in five hours! Unfortunately only 1
keeper sized fish each trip. In 4 trips of catch
and release fishing before the season opened for
retention, we have landed 3 keeper sized fish and
many under sized. Several fish every single day!
5/16 update: 2 oversized today. 6ft and 8ft fish
within minutes of each other, 1 keeper. 14 fish
total today. I will go so far as to guarantee fish
caught on my boat every single trip until further
notice. If we dont catch fish on any trip, you pay
deposit only.

DO NOT WAIT to book sturgeon trips!!
Heres why: Sturgeon quota has been cut by 38%
from last year. This years quota is 4160 fish for
sport fisherman. When 4160 fish are caught, the
season will close. This means it will likely close
prior to the scheduled closure date of July 8. It is
impossible to tell when the season will close. We
can continue fishing after the closure, but it will
be catch and release only (no retention). Right
now is the best time for keepers. Now! Not the
end of June!

Steelhead season is open on the Columbia and if
you want a wild acting, crazy run making,
flipping, jumping fish, I will take you to get those.
We can also retain Sockey and chinook under
24". Frankly, sturgeon is way way more fun.
Springer season was fantastic at the end, we
limited out and were back to the dock by 8 am!
